I’m getting my first taste of ZBrush with the v 3.1 free trial. I expect to buy the v 3.5 r3. I noticed that some online vendors (e.g., Safe Harbor (sharbor.com)) claim to be “authorized Pixologic resellers” and offer v 3.5 for $520 instead of $595. Has anyone had any experience purchasing from an authorized reseller? If they are selling the most recent release of the authentic software, I wouldn’t want to pay an additional $75 for no reason.

Any of the resellers listed at http://www.pixologic.com/resellers are legitimate and can be purchased from with confidence.

If they’re listed under the Academic heading the price will be much lower than for a commercial license, but this is because ZBrush won’t be able to be used for profit. Each academic reseller also sets their own qualification requirements.

All other listed resellers are for standard commercial licenses.
