Pivot Offset Problem

Hi I am quite new to ZBrush. I own version ZBrush 3.5r3. My problem is this.

I am trying to paint an object (tool) using ZProject. This is how I am trying to do it.

Step 1. I select Standard Material flat colour.
Step 2. I import a texture and select Crop and Fill.
Step 3. I select Material Matcap White, then select Texture Off.
Step 4. I drag my object into the canvas, but need to raise it above the background texture that I wish to paint from because half of it is sunken in.

Step 4. I select Deformation > Offset X and raise it out a little.

Now my problem. When I try to rotate the object on the canvas it doesn’t pivot around its central point, rather it orbits were its pivot was before I offset it. The offset method worked fine for me in Z Brush 3.1, but now this change has really slowed down my work flow, since I can’t figure out how to let the object keep its pivot at its centre and raise it far enough above the background that I wish to paint onto it using Z Project.

Any help would be great. Thank you for your time in advance.

Don’t you just know it! You ask for help then figure out the solution all on your own not 2 minutes later!

My solution was to turn off Edit mode and Local Transformations and use the Move (W) while dragging the mouse down the canvas to lift it out. Then turn Edit back on to continue painting using Z Project.

Hope this helps anyone having the same issue as I did.
