pinching in zsphere

hello i have a question!

when u use a sphere to modell a head there often is one or two places there it looked pinched on is there a way to fix this?

/Isak

the most frequent reason is unwanted and unnoticed rotation of some zsphere but will be of help if you can post the zsphere and the preview adap skin

i didnt mean zsphere i meant sphere3D=)…there is som pinching there=) i dont think i need to post any pics of that because it is like that on every single one=)

is up to you.:confused:
I was just trying to help.

i think the thing you call “pinching” is due to the fact that the sphere3d is a polar-sphere. that means the lines come together on the top and the bottom of the sphere… there are other (better) ways of constructing spheres… i sometimes use 3ds-maxs geosphere… the geometry on that is distributed evenly. i saw other spheres in some peoples posts that have quite a good distribution, the problem with gesopheres is that they dont have quad polygons, just tris…

heres a picture to demonstrate what i mean.

an interesting alternative is the cube. imported from 3dsmax and spherized in zbrush.

This link might help you out as well. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=20370&highlight=precision+painting

Also while modeling you can have a temporary pinch of sorts while modeling if the Quick under the Transform pallette is checked…I think this only happens to me when I hit higher subdivions.

You may try retopping the model possibly to get rid of the pinching also?

hope it helps you.

You can smooth out the pinch with the flatten brush too. :smiley:

Ron it helps a LOT=)…i really love all the help i can get here=)

thanks=)

harmonic: can i? i must try that later=)
