PierroTheClown - ZBRUSH2 Only !!!

(for Jaime)
I every one, im very interresting about ZBRUSH2, so good for all real artist, want
to feel our expression, idea. blabla…

There, its a Head, yhea, i know, just a head,
but, it my first one, finish. I did some test before,
to know the basic modeling (Zsphere), and basic
texturing (painting). And give a result like
that, << I LOVE ZBRUSH< simply !

I have many question about everything, but one
make me eager to know.

>> How you can have a soft transition between two material (one matte vs one glossy) ??? >>

Thx everyone.

This Pierro be made by Zbrush2, render by Zbrush2, texturing(painting) by Zbrush2.
Only the soft transition between the glossy material and matte material was masked in PSD.

Details, and wip, on reply.

Critic please !

Excellent work :+1:
The scar across the nose adds an interesting point, a little odd for a clown, making the image all the more unusual.

Well done

GREAT JOB!! Love it!

Hi,
good job man :+1:

For the question above, you need to know some thingh:
:small_orange_diamond:in zbrush you can assign only 1 a mat for mesh.
:small_orange_diamond:If you try to paint with 2 material or more you have a bad transition.
The to obtein a dry/wet material you must apply the first you want (dry) material and save, then load again this material and save with another name (wet) chande in the slider the specular and paint over the model.
In this way you have an object with 2 material applied with no transiction.
If you try this with a 1 material applied everytime you change wet to dry for the whole object.

Thx guys,

ok, thx marciani(Leo).
I was anderstand , that i can hve 1 material
with, 2,3 or 4 shader, with different specular
value and other. But i Dont know, how to make
my mask, to see the S2 somtimes vs S1.

Thx

daprato – bravo :+1: great job

To create a material transition within ZBrush, here’s what you do:

Take your base material, which will most likely be the matte material. Copy it using the Material>Copy Mat button. Select another material that you won’t be using and press the Material>Paste Mat button. You will now have a copy of your material.

In the Material>Modifiers, click on the S2 shader button. Adjust the Specularity property to be higher. If the material has S3 and S4 channels, modify them as well. You now have your shiny material. Paint this everywhere you want to have a shiny surface. You will most likely have sharp borders between the two materials, so we’ll get rid of them in the next step.

Paste the material into a third material slot. Adjust the specularity again to be part way between the first and second materials. Paint this new material over the border areas.

If you have a really big difference between your first two materials, you may find that you need to use a second transitional material as well.

Hope that helps!

very beautifully done, reminds me of the old pixolator images that used material transitions to such good effect…

i wonder if someone could make a zscript or something for masking though, as it’s still a bit tedious to do the work arounds

I like Bad clowns. Damn this is a nice change to the usual. Stuff appearing these days is really showing the amazing capabilities of ZBrush 2.0!

right Jason, im just stunned.
When i began my head and other mesh, i wasnt believe in render of 2d.5 soft, but, at the end of my basic modeling of my head, ive tested a setup of 3 light and ive seen a very good result.

Zbrush its nice, and take it like that: Zbrush
is at 2.0 version, imagine the next.
These ingenior thinking good !

I hate to point out the obvious Aurick but the technique you describe above should be available as a new Brush type  Pretty please

And that’s a really nicely done Clown. Kind of sad looking, but then I like that sort of thing.

Great clown! very nice modeling and excellent texturing! i took a look at your site, any saw some really nice stuff. yes, zbrush is great for artists, esp us traditional artists.
