Figure in Zbrush, came in with uvs correct.
In photoshop I take the uvs, paint a texture, save this file(psd) leave the program open
Import this file into Zbrush it fits correctly.
Now.
I take the original photoshop file and adjust it.
Besides reimporting, is there a way to have zbrush auto update it’s file, Without importing again.
Would save a lot of work.
Thank you
Have you tried ZAppLink? It’s in the Document menu.
Why not use GoZ with Photoshop? you can punt it back and forth with both apps open and it updates.
I wrote a macro for this a while ago. Assign a hotkey to it to refresh the texture:
Will try, glad to see you are still around.
Been awhile since I used Zbrush, faithfully.
A little bit rusty.
Have spent a long time with KeyShot.
Old habits die hard, know about spotlight, zapplink etc.
But with Zbrush to Keyshot bridge it is working better for me to…
Import the object with the original uv.
In polygroup I select autogroup with uv, for all.
Each object then has its original uv’s. If a previous map exists I can import it.
Or,conversely in texture I can create textue from polypaint.
I take this map into photoshop, adjust, reimport.
At all stages, I send to KeyShot.
I keep photoshop open, adjust the map, reimport the texture and resend to Keyshot.
(have to pause real time rendering in KeyShot due to memory affecting Photoshop)
All of this really works quite well, it is just the constant removing old maps in Zbrush and reimporting
new ones.
Some programs have auto update, reload, etc.
Not lazy, just annoying and time consuming
Thank you very much for the help, appreciate it.
On a personal note, you have always been very kind to me, do not wish to take your time
away from important stuff.
You are hereby given permission to ignore me.
Take care
The macro should help with that workflow well. It works by reloading the texture directly onto the model, so the Texture palette doesn’t get full of textures. You press the macro button when you first want to select a texture map and then press the hotkey to refresh the map any time you’ve changed it in Photoshop.
Shame Valentines Day is over, would have sent candy and flowers.
Once again, deeply…
Thank you very very much, worked like a charm ( screwed up initially did not put "inside’ the misc folder)
Biggest way I can try and thank you is stay away, will try.
Glad you got it working, and I’m glad you find it useful!
