Photoscanned model too broken to dynamesh.. Solution?

Hey guys,

First time posting here so apologies if this is in the wrong section!

I have a photo-scanned model of a tree which I’ll be using for LED projections. Unfortunately the back of the model is completely broken from where the leafs have interfered with the photo-scanning process. I need to dynamesh extra branches I’ve made using Zspheres but when I try to dynamesh the model… Zbrush crashes; which I assume is because of all the open geometry at the back.

Any advice on how to tackles something like this? I’m kind of at a stump, any help is much appreciated.

dupe your mesh
zremesh it to a reasonable tricount
close your holes
subD your model
project all to return your original details
clean up projections.

same idea to add back in your branches with zsphere, etc.

Try Meshmixer first to fix your model then import it to ZB. It’s free and powerful software.
