Pengiun Love -Wings3D Speed Modeling Session

Here we go…this was fun.2.5 hours sub-d modeling in wings. another 30 minutes of tweaking the rock in Zbrush and placement and such. Penguin is 1600 polys.

This is the image I submitted for the 3D art to part contest.

Yet another successful wings project! Models
are very well defined and placed in a fairly
emotional positure. I like the test rendering
setup too, kind of romantic and pure!
Hope to see it more evolved and all!
:+1:

wow!! Mike really nice! :+1:

I saw the speed modelig contest, I think it is a good for praticing. When I have a time… I will try to participe.

Hi MtB
Do you know the old master Francois Pompon. (slide)
Same smoothing form ! :+1:
You can be his disciple :sunglasses:
Pilou

Nice modeling MTB. You might want to use hard edges to define the boundary of the beak.

one of your best wings3d work, very cool.the lightning of the render is perfect.you are now a wings3d pro! :+1: :+1: :grimacing: :grimacing:

very fine penguins, Mahlikus! I’m more and more interested by that subdivision topic… is wings easy? have you try silo? with my poor english practice, I 'm also very concerned by the abilities to have tutorials and readible help…

Never tried silo…don’t want too unless its free and without limitations. As for wings…it take a week or two to get used to but afterwards its awesome to use. As for english to french barrier…www.google.com has a language tools section that translates web pages for one language to another…for example…
Jamais dans ma vie ayez-moi a jamais eu la capacité de parler le français ou n’importe quelle autre langue jusqu’ici. Merci technologie moderne.

  :+1:

Have fun!</A>…and thank you for the comments everyone!

Hi Marcel
Take a look at this thread pilou et Wings
A week , MtB is optimist
Pilou
M’enfin avec le system D

oh I have seen this thread, pilou… it seems mostly ciomplicated! but I suppose every software is complicated at the first glance…

wings is simple, simpler Marcel… you die. selection of faces, edges or points, and you triturate all that, in rotation, translation, free or on an axis. Division of face, smoothing, veiled in resumed what you have to know to handle it, I think that in two hours you familiarize yourself with the interface and his handling.

after, it is a question of modelisation like always. less week end it is on… di not listenings Pilou, left Cameyo script it is lost  :stuck_out_tongue:

Your penguins are very beautiful and you show a good use of poly’s. Very nice mtb

PS Silo has a trial and for a very low fee of $99 it is an incredible modeler. I have used wings as well but I like silo. It took about 15 minutes to follow one tutorial and after that I knew all the tools and what they do. One of the easiest programs to learn and very powerful. Wings is great as well but por moi, I like silo. Very quick workflow. With your background marcel it is very possible that you could get selected to beta test clay 3d which is getting alot of raves from it’s testers. Interestingly enough it is pretty much the same bunch of guys that are betatesting zbrush.

Merci les gars
2 Videos about modeling on Wings3D
Just use the reseach windows of your navigator with “wings”
And the video are named Tutoriel 1 and Tutoriel 2
Each 12 minutes seeing :it’s about modeling a head!

Pilou

Thanks Matuka…but I asked and have not gotten a response…shrugs
Oh well. Some other soft some other time…hopefully.

Yes it is a shame. From the posts that have contained the briefest of info on it have me very much intrigued as to how it works. But alas since I’m not a VFX artist that works for hollywood, I will have to wait for 2 years or so until it’s finished. Oh well Long live the poly and dev teams that don’t descriminate! Oh and good luck with art to part, keep us informed oh wise desert modeler.
