Partial Subtool Visibility

Hello All!

So I upgraded my Zbrush 2021 to 22.2.

For some reason, one of my subtools is only showing part of the subtool. However, if i rotate with the edit mode, the sections that were not visible becomes visible. Once the subtool is back in its correct position, it’s back to being only partially displayed.

I Googled but didn’t see exactly what I was experiencing. One post suggested the ctrl + shift + click on screen, that didn’t work. One suggested that it’s a ghost transparency issue. So I tested it out but nothing changed the issue I was having. There were other but that would be too long to post.

Any other suggestions?

Hello @Ireca

Please contact ZBrush Support with a publicly accessible link to your file. All we can do from the information provided here is make guesses about what might be going on in your file.

Thank you!

I will. Trying to post my video as well to better show my issue.

How large is the mesh in your scene? It looks as if it might be especially large. Meshes that are drastically oversized or that have extreme offset from center can sometimes experience clipping issues on the canvas, as well as a number of other problems.

The ideal size for a mesh in ZBrush is something in the ballpark of a Tool> Geometry> Size > XYZ of 2.0. A little bigger or smaller is not a problem, but drastically larger than that value, and you may start to run into issues. Likewise if the mesh is extremely off center.

Try using a Tool> Deformation> Unify on the mesh and see if it corrects the problem.

Thank you for your reply. I will try this out later on and report back to see how it went.

I tried zremeshing the subtool by half but nothing happened. I’m still new to using everything on zbrush, so any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

So I merged down with the subtool I had broken up and it became entirely visible again. I don’t know how or why.
