Panel with most used brushes? (answered)

Is there any way to add a panel that we could add buttons for the brushes that we use most?

Thanks

Note that in ZBrush 4 you use Ctrl+Alt to drag components not Ctrl as in earlier versions

Thanks.

Never mind. Thanks

I manage to have almost all options that I want visible, but there is one button that doesn’t appear when I restart zbrush. Active Symmetry.

Everytime a restart, this button disappears from my panel.

That link is a little out of date. This is better : http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Changing_the_Interface_Layout

Note: When you give your custom menu a name start the name with the ~ (tilde) character. This won’t show on the interface but it will ensure that all your custom interfaces display correctly. On some keyboards you may need to use a different key to get the ~ - for example, on a UK keyboard, use the @ key.

You can rename a custom menu created earlier by:

  1. Placing it in the right or left tray so it stays open.
  2. Enabling Customize in the Preferences>Custom UI menu.
  3. Ctrl+Alt+clicking on the menu name.

For the Activate Symmetry button, that’s one of those that won’t stick because it’s not present in ZBrush’s default state, only when a 3D model is active. You can get round it though by using a macro. Simply put the attached file in the ZStartup/Macros/Misc folder and restart ZBrush or press Macro>Reload All Macros. With Enable Customize on, you can then Ctrl+Alt+drag the button to your custom menu.

HTH,

Thanks.

But that macro is not working. After restarting Zbrush, the “Activate Symmetry” button doesn’t show where I put it.
Is it possible to add two more items to this macro as well? “ActivePoints” and “TotalPoints”. They also won’t stick.

Are you dragging the macro button to the custom UI? That’s what you have to do.

For ActivePoints and TotalPoints, these won’t stick if you have a 3D object selected when you save the UI, so what you need to do is turn off Edit mode and switch to the SimpleBrush. Then save the UI with Shift+Ctrl+i.

Thanks, it is all working now.

But I still have two questions:

  • How do I make the Symmetry button to show the Symmetry status?
  • Is it possible to change some buttons size?

Thanks

*Unfortunately you can’t make a macro button to show the symmetry status.
*You can change the button size for all buttons in the Preferences>Interface menu.

Well, more or less, because Zbrush doesn’t allow me to change the buttons size to less than 38.

Smaller than 38 would mean you lost the text on some buttons.

Thanks.

Just one more question:

Is there a way to show a label with the ActivePolys just like ActivePoints, and just like when we move the mouse over a subtool, and a tooltip shows how many polys it has?

No, you’ll have to rely on the pop-up.
