PaintStop MaskingProblems on Mac

Hi there,

though PaintStop is not a core feature, and it seems a bit underestimated an so far leading a shadowy existence, after a while I found out, that it is really helpful, because small and fast and included in ZBrush, so you don’t have to change to an other software. And for quick sketches it works wonderful.
A problem occurs with ZB2018, ZB 4R8 and my Mac: masking does not work at all.
This is not a great problem, but I want to know, if it is so? I read the handbook attentive, but when I go to masking, there is no possibility to paint a mask. The whole canvas keeps white.

Thanks for a reply, as I said, its no main problem, rather a bit unpleasant

Greetings

Stephan

Please upgrade to the most up to date version of Zbrush–currently 2020.1.1. This is free for registered users, and older versions are not supported.

Be aware that Paintstop works in 2.5D mode, like Projection Master. Many 3d functions, like masking, will not apply.

Hi Spyndel,

thanks for your fast reply, but this was not the answer to my question. I do know, in what mode I am, when I work in 2.5 D, but the question was, if somebody would know, if there are problems with masking on the mac version.

To the update: I work now for more than 25 years with computers and software, and I update then, when I’m convinced, that the new version is better. ZBrush was alway an exception compared with other software, and I liked it because of its well thought out workflow. This applies to the versions R6, R7, R8, and former at all. And I do not want to update my operating system constantly because of all that trouble you have.

Thanks again, as I said, masking is not really necessary. I just wanted to know, if somebody would know about this problem.

Sincerly

Stephan
