painted idol(s)

First wanted to call this thread : “everyone can paint !” …but that would be a lie
and Mr. Bannerman would be upset !
Yes , they don’t call it ZBrush for nothing…try to do this in Mudbox,eh…
Its a overpainted 3D ,or 2.5D render from Zbrush !

Great Going

Keep more coming and give mudbox a scare

This character looks like it may have the advantage playing musical chairs.

Nice paintin’ post. :+1:

wckedsunny…yep, this 3D stuff is so overrated :D…“keep on painting”

boozy floozie…i would like to find a good blend between 2D and 3D…i’ve downloaded painter 9, for a 30 day period , but i think ZBrush is a good option for stretching the paint-muscles …Artrage is also a good option for painting !

i did this in Zbrush after seeing Mytholon’s thread…

…a digital camera, a McFarlane toy and ZBrush :

A lot of Smudge brush?

 …not on the last one, pure brushwork ,bristle mode !!

jantim

…is a decent “francis Bacon” painting

Thanks for clarifying Jantim. I somehow thought that you modified the picture from your digital camera.

:o

Very nice.

billrobertson42…i used the photo to have some comparison and guide, i inserted part of the original photo in the painted counterpart to give you an idea, as you
can see its not a “smudged” overpaint .

Frenchy Pilou… i’m surprised then you did not mention a French painter , as a lot of posted images seems to remind you of “French” architects,"French "illustrators, “French” comics, “French” actors…etc, your a true advocate of French culture

jantim

nice images…
im of the same mind, thought it would be nice to take an image like these, get it digi printed onto canvas and add an extra operpaint in places with oils to get it really popping off the canvas…food for thought?

…From New Zealand, where sheep outnumber people 10 to 1…thats why we are always smiling, and the sheep are nervous

i’m surprised then you did not mention a French painter…your a true advocate of French culture

Absolutly not more than!
I have yet mentioned (Dali, Van Gogh, Veermer, Michael Angello, Dürer, Picasso, Böcklin, Leonardo da Vinci, Bosh, Pixolator, Haeckel, Borges, Bruegel, Messersmidt, Magritte, Max Ernst, Bacon, Pollock, Rockwell, Beksinski, Van Eyck, Hopper, Zdenek Burian, Velasquez, etc…
% is surely the inverse that you feel
It’s very easy to verify with the internal search engine
Seems you are a little focused
(of course for realised that you must read all my posts
It’s that we can name the “selective memory”
And the subliminal power of the avatar name

Awesome. Great thread. :+1:

Your right about mudbox. This is why I bought ZBrush in the first place. Thanks for reminding me. I’ve gotten sidetracked with this modeling.

lincoln.renall…if i was better at painting i would be somewhat frustrated that my "paintings"would only exist in digital form…and selling original artwork has alway’s been a part of the joy’s of working in illustration, it will be interesting to see how the “real” and the "digital"images will blend in the future !

Frenchy Pilou…i will keep a thoughtfull eye on your future posts !!

Blaine91555… i did not buy ZBrush for painting, but its great fun to “unwind” and to sketch in this software…and it would be a loss if it would only evolve as a modelling tool !

jantim

I believe! Once again, my apologies for misunderstanding. I would also like to add, quite sincerely, that I think you’re one of the best artists posting here. I really admire your ability to construct fantastic forms from simple elements.

Thanks for showing me the way you did the reference. That’s nice tip.

Thats a lot of praise, billrobertson42 !..but as long as most of my “idea’s” are grounded by lack of modelling talent i have a long way to go…its a pity that you can’t “download” the technical aspects of the craft -matrix style - like anatomy, knowledge of software etc. but have to learn ,the hard way, only by trying , and trying…and then trying again !
