overlapping seams dont work for zmapper

Hello, i have a question, i see too many excelents works with the mesh unwraped and the similar parts like hands, foots, midle face, are one on top of his other,

Rigth hand on top of left hands etc,
everything to save space texture.

But i found the problem with ZB, he not work NORMAL MAP if the unwrap is like i explain before

Only work if a put de unwraped mesh separate

You need to delete the overlapped polygons before you create the normal map.

if i deleted de overlaped faces how can i mapped? only half of the torso or back will be mapped?

Hello there

You need to select the uv’s on half of the model (that i pressume is in mirror),
and scale it down in an empty corner in your uv space. After that you should import this obj into zbrush into the high poly, at the lowest subdivision, to update your new uv’s (now is time to pray that your point order is the same) or another way is to reproject your details on this new mesh. After that you make the normal maps. Then you apply the normal map on the obj with the overlapping uv’s. That should work pretty good, and because your uv are in mirror the details would be exactly on both sides of your model.
I hope this helps.

HEY! I never thought of that. I tried it and got it to work. Thank you.
