OSX multi-threading issue?

Have the multi-threading issues with Zbrush on OSX Macbooks been resolved by chance? I am referring to the issue where you have to tweak the thread count so the fans do not run in crazy loud mode the entire time due to the temps.

Not in my case. I assume you’re referring to R7 vs R6? In any case it’s the same in both. Wish there was someway to get the performance preferences to at least stick. Have to set them every time I startup.

same here- so i made a startup macro and bound it to cmd+X.
the macro puts a sphere on the canvas, puts it in edit and makes it a polymesh.
also, custom light/render/perspective/settings are employed as well as the multithreading settings and a few other things i can’t think of presently…
at any rate, it’s pretty handy to get up and go with one click!

What are the recommended multi-threading settings for OS X these days?

Just how does the Windows version deal with multi-threading? Has anybody tried comparing the two versions on the same hardware?
Isn’t ZBrush just insanely well multi-threaded? Using any and all procs/cores it can get it’s hands on? Or is that not how it’s meant to work.
