Hi guys, I’m loving the new zbrush 2019. And as much as I love the gizmo3d tool I find it very awkward to use when trying to pose something especially when I want my pivet point to be at a certain area. I don’t know if I have any control of that with gizmo3d like I did with transpose line. Is it possible to get the old transpose line tool back? Or is there a way to move the gizmo to an area I want to pivot?
Hi Markus! I’ve got a double dose of good news–you can do both.
-
The program returns to transpose lines if Gizmo mode is disabled. Just toggle the gizmo icon located on your interface, or in the Transform menu by default.
-
You can move the Gizmo quickly to a pivot by “unlocking” the manipulator (lock icon above the Gizmo manipulator), and clicking where you’d like on a mesh, just like with Transpose. While unlocked, the manipulator can also be manually repositioned, or centered on the unmasked mesh via an adjacent icon.
Just to add keyboard shortcuts:
w for the gizmo then:
y toggles gizmo with original transpose tool
Also useful:
press alt and rotation icon on gizmo set rotations to zero
press alt and home icon on gizmo to recenter axis to origin
Cheers!
