Orc Head

A fast concept sculpt. I hope I’ll have enough time to retopologize it soon and detail and texture it further.Thanks.

The teeth look like the will pose a problem down the road when you go to texture them and add more detail. I would model them seperately from your base mesh. Other than that, great start!

there will be separate teeth objects, as soon as I get it in Maya.

Modified topology topo.JPG

TopoGun:3D
wtf is this?

It’s a new “retopologizing” app that hasn’t been officially released.

Cool  :+1:

Getting back some detail… det.JPG

Can you tell if it has anything over the re-topo tools from silo ?

It’s superior to Silo’s topology brush. It has lots of traditional modeling features, and a nonlinear editing mode. As I remember, in Silo you’re not able to edit the topology lines drawn, in TopoGun every edge and vertex is editable. The polys are automatically and realtime updated, and it has some other cool features, like subdividing your mesh, relaxing and so on. There is no XYZ editing mode, everything you do you do it on your highres reference model.

Whoa
I wish to use this TopoGun:3D.
Give to me it, give to me quickly!

The beta version should be available pretty soon.

it sounds great, it looks a bit like the new silo2 topology features…

Coming along nicely pixelmachine! I’d watchout about putting too much fine detail on the ear lobes and the skin looks a little thin on the bridge of the nose from what i can tell by the amount of fine detail you got going there. If thats what youre going for, its all good :+1: . Oh also don’t forget to make those pores more prominent. If you’re going to texture and light him some of that detail may be lost. Good Work.

How many subd levels is that?
