OpenGL and OpenCL deprecated in MacOS Mojave • No consequences for ZBrush users?

Hi,

Starting with MacOS 10.14 Mojave, Apple will cease OpenGL and OpenCL support. Will this affect MacOS ZBrush users, or will we be safe because ZBrush uses its own proprietary screen rendering method?

And what about PolyGroupIt’s OpenGL interface?

There won’t be any consequences in the short term. In the longer term - at least a year - it may be necessary for Pixologic to update the PolyGroupIt plugin. But ZBrush itself doesn’t use OpenGL and so won’t be affected.

Many thanks Marcus, that’s reassuring. I’m also a Blender user, and right now it seems that might turn into a dying platform on MacOS, due to Apple’s OpenGL and OpenCL cessation.
