Brief description:
Its theme is a mix of a comic book, sci-fi and militaristic FPS taking place in the year 2020. Production of CoH started November 2007.
Target aim:
Retail. Priority one is making a tech demo and start looking for investors and publishers.
Compensation:
All of the team are volunteering their services, mainly to get credit for working on it and to use as a stepping stone for better things. However contracts will need to be drawn up at some point, so if you join the team you may benefit in the future if the game takes off.
Technology:
The game is being made for Pc using Unreal Engine 3, Maya, 3ds max, Photoshop and c++ mainly. We aim to get funding for UE3 licenses after completing a tech demo.
Talent needed:
Common for all our positions is that you will need a good command of english and since this is a project where most of the team doesn’t share an office you will need a strong work ethic. Of course game development experience is also a great plus.

2 Character artists
Will be responsible for creating and designing characters from main heroes, soldiers to space aliens and various creatures. Ability to design visual characters with strong personality and distinct features is of foremost importance. Will also be responsible for providing guidance to 3d modeling team on creative issues to create working, playable characters.
Requirements: Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop
Preferred skills: ability to create different views of same character, object or scene.

2 Prop artists
This position includes following the design document to create vehicles and weapons as well as using your imagination to make less advanced props and items. The applicant needs to be familiar with modern day military arsenal and be able to create detailed drawings and concept designs.
Requirements: Good drawing skills, particularly with mechanical objects, vehicles and concept design.
Preferred skills: knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

1 Color artist
Our Colorist will be in charge of creating a coherent color palette for the entire game. Provides advice to creative artists and modelers and also monitors the general color coordination of the game. Colorist will also digitally color artwork.
Requirements: knowledge of any major graphics package such as Adobe Photoshop, Coreldraw etc
Preferred skills: knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.

1 Texture artist
Texture artist will be working on creation of highly detailed texture maps for 3D models, including characters, objects, weapons and environments. Ability to create UV maps is a great bonus.
Requirements: good knowledge of Adobe photoshop and texturing and skinning methods.
Preferred skills: Knowledge and application of texturing and UV mapping techniques in Autodesk Maya or 3D Studio Max

1 Environment artist
Responsible for creation and graphic design of detailed and realistic worlds and environments from written descriptions and own imagination. Needs to have good sketching abilities. The drawings are to be used as reference and support material for Mappers, 3D modelers and texture artists.
Requirements: Good drawing skills, ability to vividly depict environments and create different views of same scene.
Preferred skills: Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.

2 Modelers
modelers use provided written and visual reference material to create 3d characters and objects used in the game
Deep knowledge of Autodesk Maya or 3d studio is required for this position. The modeler should be flexible enough to work on both organic and inorganic models and ability to lay out UV for texture artists is a great bonus.
Additionally an understanding of the workings of game engines with respect to models and knowledge of Unreal 3 engine is sought after.
Requirements: Good knowledge of 3D studio Max or Autodesk Maya packages. UV mapping skils.
Preferred skills: General modeling skills, rigging and animation experience, knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
MAPPING
- 2 Mappers
Using the Unreal Engine 3 our mapping team will be creating the playable world as well as scripting events.
Requirements: Previous mapping experience with software such as Radiant or Hammer and experience with visual scripting.

ANIMATION

1 Lead animator
Lead animator is responsible for all animation aspects of the game. This involves supervision of animators, communication with programmers and helping people from the department with enquiries.
Because of the nature of the position it requires good understanding of animation and rigging techniques along with good knowledge of one of the two modeling packages, Autodesk Maya or 3D studio Max.

2 Animators
The animators job is to make our models come to life using their choice of 3d software. Should be able to provide their own reference material, however help will be given.
Requirements: in-depth knowledge of Autodesk Maya or 3D Studio Max. In-depth knowledge of rigging and animation techniques.
Preferred skills: Video Editing, scene composition
Team structure:
We have 1 producer, 1 production manager, 1 lead designer, 1 lead + 4 programmers, 1 lead + 3 3d modelers, 1 lead + 2 mappers, 1 sound designer and 1 composer.
My job as a production manager is making sure things run smoothly and get done at given deadlines.
