Old user returning to 3d needs help w/ updating and UI

greetings fellow zbrushers, hope all is well on your end. i have been out the loop for about 3 years and there seems to have been a lot of changes. the last version i was able to hold onto and update was 2022.0.07 on my old system. i just upgraded to a newer system, and was able to install 2022.0.5, but the upgrader app doesnt seem to connect anymore?!?!? is this the end of my “free” upgrades?

also, i was able to copy over my old configuration, but its been so long since ive zbrushed, i dont even remember what these were called… how can i get rid of them?

and out of curiosity, does anyone have experience w/ the character creator/iclone zbrush pipeline? how badly are users of the older versions affected by not being able to upgrade?

(by upgrade i mean “for free”)

Hi @MatCreator

The small box in the upper left corner of ZBrush is the Thumbnail View, which displays a thumbnail image of the model you are currently working on, helping you visualize its shape and colors. It can also switch to Silhouette Mode to show just the model’s outline. Personally, I never had any use for it and keep it turned off. To turn it off, go to “Preferences > Thumbnail”.

The thing in the upper right corner is the CamView which shows the orientation that the tool is in. Options for it are in “Preferences > CamView”. You have a selection of different icons. You can change the size also.

Regarding your upgrade, the last perpetual version is 2022.0.8 and you can download it from the My Licenses page. That was the end of the free version.

As far as the upgrade app in your Zbrush folder, I know ZUpgrader.exe file doesn’t work, but did you try updater.exe file ?
