Ogre

hey all, so this is my first post on zbrushcentral.

i was fortunate enough to have my good friend Gio Nakpil lend me this creature he modeled years ago to paint. he provided me the model and the primary and secondary zbrush displacement pass and i did the rest. this character was intended for my second gnomon texture dvd featuring MARI. however because of scheduling conflicts, this ogre has been shelved and i will be developing textures for a different creature in the future.

hope you enjoy!

model by Gio Nakpil. textures, lookdev rendering by myself. software: MARI, PHOTOSHOP, MODO, UNFOLD 3D ![ogre01_comp_00000_smaller.jpg|1000x1000](upload://6lgMsoGmfAJ6idZ1jcbP8ekDb7A.jpeg) [](http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_zbc_display_images)

That´s awesome, i can see MARI power unleashed there, and you sir have some sick skills. Pretty inspiring work.

On one note as a photographic freak i have some problems with the blown parts in the skin, but as myself i love it because i love the perfection of imperfection and to see something different and not those perfectly lit juggernaut render engine images we see in movies that are so perfect that end up looking fake and cartoony as hell, that was one of the reason district 9 effects looked so cool, i can see this ogre functioning in a real environment flawlessly.

wow, thats a modo render eh? pretty nice I say. and I was thinking the exact same thing, Mari is a beast of a program isn’t it?

I was hoping to get my hands on it last week but professor forgot his laptop.

Seems like a pretty swell texturing job overall.

that’s one good looking ogre! mari truly is a wonderful program! love the eyes!!:+1:

This came out great Justin! Really brought life to Gios sculpt. Eyes look fantastic as well!

thanks guys!!! i was pretty happy with this guy. i mean there would be a lot more to be done including adding hair and a few other details but given the time i had (about a week for textures, lookdev, light and rendering) im happy with how it came together.
