Object Artifacts - Reset UI?

Hello,
New to ZBrush and the forums; feedback and help are greatly appreciated. Looked through the post and couldn’t find and answer to this anywhere through search etc.

Basically what is happening is I will be using zspheres or just editing a polymesh object (which is what is shown in the screen captures) and randomly an artifact of the object will break off and stay in my workspace blocking my view. It also returns when I open the saved project after restarting ZBrush. Its happened multiple times now, and is a pretty big impediment. At times it will happen 2-3 instances to the point where I can hardly even see my model. Hopefully its something simple, thanks for your replies/help.

You’re accidentally pressing Shift+S, which is they key command to snapshot the object. That leaves a 2.5D pixol-based copy of the model on your canvas, which is what’s getting you in trouble. Pixols are saved with a ZPR (as opposed to a ZTL, which doesn’t save them) and that’s why it’s still there when you load the project again.

If you accidentally create a snapshot, Ctrl+N is the key command to clear the canvas. That will remove everything except the in-edit-mode object from the screen, thus removing the snapshot.

If you anticipate that you will continue pressing Shift+S by accident, there’s an easy solution: Assign a different hotkey to the Transform >> Snapshot button.

Awesome, I definitely appreciate the help. Glad it was something simple, what seemed to throw me off was that undo etc didnt seem to effect it, but I’m glad its something simple.
Have a great holiday!
