OBJ file import to Maya

there is a problem that the obj file I exported from Zbrush will be separate with parts depends on the Zshperes number. It looks like one model but doesn’t link with each other on the joint. Is there any settings I need to go through before I import?

By the way, it doesn’t happen on Max with the same obj file.

in zbrush export a polymesh, remember to turn off ‘‘grp’’ and turn on ‘‘mrg’’.

go to the options for import in maya, there are a list of options you need to set to ‘off’.

it is good to establish a link between maya and zbrush, so if you started in zspheres, after you convert to polymesh, export the mesh to maya then export from maya back to zbrush.

maya will re-order vert id to suit its ‘‘logic’’, even if there was no edits to the mesh.
