I’m using the most recent version of Zbrush. I used it earlier and it asked me for my activation code. I thought it was a fluke, so I entered it and did some work. Now, every time I open Zbrush, it asks me for this. I need help resolving this issue please.
As this thread shows, this is a known issue and we’re trying to figure out what the trigger is. Unfortunately, the hardest thing for a developer to fix is something that we can’t duplicate.
Here are some questions, though:
Did you save a custom UI? If so, try disabling it and seeing what happens. This is done by renaming the CustomUserInterface4R2.cfg file, found in the ZStartup folder. You can name it anything you want. See if ZBrush will then stay activated after you’ve done that. If so, we’ll know that the problem is one of the settings in that file and would appreciate it if you’d send the file to Support.
Did you copy items from the previous version into the ZStartup folder? Something you copied might have led to the problem because it’s not compatible with 4R3.
Did you install a bunch of ZStartup items? More than 25 of any given item can result in unexpected behavior.
Did you modify the contents of the ZData folder in any way? ZBrush depends on those files and changing what’s in that folder can cause unexpected behavior.
Hopefully something from this will help you out so that this problem doesn’t keep happening. If not, though, all I can say is you’ll just need to reactivate when it happens. We are trying to find the problem but I can’t make any promises regarding when it will be resolved.
