Normal map- how?

Well…sorry for this kind of question, i know you all answers this question many times…but i really dont get it how it works…let me explain: for example i modeled a head in wings, export to zbrush, but how i do a normal map in zbrush to export and then put the map in 3dsmax(i have all the plugs for this…i think)… if someone could helpme I aprecciate a lot! Thanx!!!

This is a feature that will be included in ZBrush 2. All instructions/documentation will be made available at that time.

err, what Max plugins are these???

My little bit of research indicates theres really only two plugins that allows Max to render normalmaps as bumpmaps, and that’s Kaldera.(US$ 395) or Gnormal for max five. (found at - http://www.maxplugins.de/ ).(freeware)

I’m praying I’m wrong here!!

There’s a number of programs and plugins out there that will allow you to create normal maps (such as ZBrush ver.2) but with Max there isn’t a free plugin that will allow you to render the normal map.

There is a way by running Max in Direct X mode, but I’m having problems with this method.

HERE’S an interesting article about applying normal and displacement maps in Max I found on the ORB forums.

I’d advise you to have a practice applying displacement maps in Max before ZB-2 comes out.

If anyone else has any information please add it here! I’d love to get on top of this myself!
