Noisemaker stopped working - again

I and others have had issues with Noisemaker in the past - in that it simply crashed Zbrush whenever you tried accessing Noisemaker. For whatever reason I got my Noisemaker functional again, must have been 2 years ago. Haven’t used it much but it worked - until now. I experienced one crash in the middle of a Noisemaker session. And now Zbrush crasches each and every time I try going into Noisemaker, regardless of how complex my model is.

I’m thinking there must be some cache problem here. Any suggestions from the Pixologic team? I hope a full re-install is not the only remedy to this returning problem.

Make sure that you have the newest version of ZBrush > > ZB4R6 P2

That’s the one I’m running.

This has worked for me.

  1. Save your Config and UI Colors first to a different spot other than C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\ZBrushData folder then close ZBrush.

  2. Delete the contents of C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\ZBrushData folder (subfolders and content only is fine). Don’t worry, ZBrush will create new ones.

  3. Start ZBrush

  4. Load the Config and UI Colors that you saved earlier.

Note: I don’t have custom hotkeys so I can’t guarantee anything there. Try saving your hotkey file then loading it later.

Thanks. I didn’t follow the above procedure, but for whatever reason the Noisemaker got back in line for a while. Worked flawlessly. All I’d done was to delete my quicksave files and store the configs. But then Noisemaker started crashing again and I got a memory error message. Strange beast this.

OK, suit yourself. :stuck_out_tongue:
