noisemaker problem [Answered]

Hi good days to everybody , this is my first question to post in here .
I have met a problem at trying a noisemaker modeling after watching etcher’s tutorials about noise maker .
here is my steps of the trying

  1. make a simpe cylinder model and make its inner radius to 100

  2. make this model to 3d poly mesh and use UV master to make its uv

3.after done, I give my model to 3 subdivision level and enter surface panel and activate the noise maker
I use a 16bit gray psd alpha as the pattern

this is the 3d mode in noiser maker

how can I correct the side stretched pattern ? I tried to click the uv buttom with the same settings but the pattern becom a mess pattern…
I have tried to change its scale and strength setting but it is in vain … so anyone can help me to solve this problem ?
ps. sorry for my bad English

The 3D option in Noisemaker can introduce some stretching with some shapes. If this is unacceptable then you are better off using the UV option. However, when using the UV option you may need to adjust the scale to a different setting. (I expect that in your example the scale is too high.) Also, for a regular shape like a cylinder, UV Master may not produce good UVs straight off. For example, the UV may be diagonal across the UV space. This will produce a stretched pattern when using Noisemaker because the tiled map is being applied at an angle. You can straighten the UV in UV Master’s Flatten mode then be sure to re-load the texture map in Noisemaker so that the noise is refreshed.
