Noise brush only working on the opposite side of the mesh. What setting is wrong?

Hi guys,

I’ve been trying to use the noise brush to make gouges in a mesh however its only affecting the opposite side of the mesh vs the side I want it to. What setting do I have checked to make this happen so that I can uncheck it?

Resetting the brushes did not fix this.

Anyone have any ideas?

In the Brush>Depth menu, change the Imbed slider value to a positive number.

Thank you SOOO much! This has been that way for the last few releases and I thought maybe the brush just worked different now. I’ve even changed operating systems and did several reinstalls each time hoping the noise brush work work again.

Glad to know it was just a setting. Thank you again

Glad you got it working.

There’s another issue with noise brushes that you need to be aware of. This is from the 4R5 sticky at the top of this forum:

Q: Brush Noise is not working, or works intermittently.
A: An issue has been identified with this but there is an easy workaround. Customize your UI to put the Brush >> Surface >> Noise button anywhere on your Shelf. Save the UI. So long as the Noise button is visible, the brush will work correctly. Putting it on the Shelf ensures that it will always be visible.
