No web deactivation option

Since Zbrush 3 I’ve never had the menu option of ‘web deactivation’ under the deactivate menu.

I’ve seen this issue on multiple PCs under xp, vista and windows 7, both 32bit and 64bit. With firewalls and anti-virus disabled.

I’d really appreciate an explanation on what causes this issue, as it’s a serious headache for deactivating/activating licenses.

Thanks

I’m looking at my copy of ZBrush 4 right now. Zplugin >> Deactivation >> Web Deactivation (best) is definitely there.

If you are seeing something different, please provide a screen shot of your entire ZBrush window with the Deactivation menu open.

I know, this is a super old thread, but well i have exactly the same issue

there is just no web deactivation button in my version of zbrush

Proceed with the update. If when activating 4R3 you get a message that you are out of activations there will be a button to View Activation History. Click that and check off the lost activation from the list. It will create a Support ticket with the info we need to remove the lost activation from your serial number. Turnaround time is usually within an hour.

Sorry for bringing up such an old thread (I’m not the first one, apparently), but I have the same exact problem. I’m getting ready to transfer my license to a new computer, but the web deactivation button is missing. I’ve got ZBrush 4R7 P1 (didn’t upgrade to P3 because I was expecting to transfer my license to a new computer later) and there’s no web deactivation option–only “deactivate plugins” and “manual deactivation”:

The post above by Aurick says to proceed with the update (which for 4R7 involves uninstalling), but instructions on the upgrade page says to deactivate first, which basically puts me in a quandary. I’d go for the automatic update, but I remember reading that it’s not recommended, and that I should instead uninstall and reinstall. Which I can’t do without deactivating my current license.

NOTE: Not sure if this is relevant, but I still have 4R6 installed on the same computer, and that one is also missing the web deactivation button.

My specs are:

  • Windows 7
  • 4GB RAM
  • Intel Core 15-460M processor

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: not sure why the screen capture jpg is broken. It shows up fine in edit mode.

UPDATE: Been googling for hours and discovered something called Pixologic Deactivation Manager. Can I use this to deactivate instead?
