No adaptive skin tab

Hi there,

So I’m new to ZBrush and couldn’t find an answer to my problem, thanks for helping.

I’m trying to add polygons to a part of the body, but because I’m at a high level of details now ZRemesher isn’t really an option. I figured I could use adaptive skin, press A and add a zsphere but there’s only a Unified skin subtool. I guess the ztool wasn’t started from a Zsphere (I started from an existing ztool to learn and play around), is there a way to make it back to a Ztool with which I can see and modify its base Zspheres?

Thanks a lot!

Adaptive skinning is only available for ZSpheres. All other meshes have only the Unified Skin option.

You could clone your model and then use ZRemesher to redistribute your polygons as desired. Then with the new version of the model, subdivide it back up to the necessary number of polygons and project from your original model to the new one to get the details back.

ZRemesher is always an option. You just need to subdivide the resulting remesh, and project high poly detail from your original mesh onto it. If you want more geometry in problem areas you can partially subdivide the remeshed object, or using the slice curve brush to slice in more edge loops. Likewise, you could make use of the polypaint feature in ZRemesher to paint areas you want more poly density in.

Thanks a lot! I’ll try this today. I did not thought about the ability to transfer detail!
