nightmare - work in progress contin.

greetings, all.

I’m beginning to worship Zbrush’s intuitive modelling. I’ve almost made up a human figure in 10 hours’ working time. the model itself isn’t perfect, but the glitches there are (body parts fitting with each other) aren’t so dramatic that they can’t be wiped off with some 2D brushes. (hell, the blur brush ROCKS!)

hope you like this one, it’s just starting to make sense as a composition…

oh, and thanks to KenB for reminding me to learn how to use the Stencil tool!!!

a small update, hope you like.

Definitely coming along there, Chris. Still lots of great detail, and a definite sense of creepiness.

The only thing that strikes me as off is that the right foot is about half toes and very little foot. But that may be part of your plan for the final image, too. So I’ll just have to wait to see more!

Keep up the good work!

wow, it looks like he’s coming right out of the ground… I rock giant from the ancient past… :stuck_out_tongue: really cool…

Hey Chris . . .

Your image reminds me of one of my “X” girl friends. She didn’t have any kind of a skin problem, but this is what her legs looked like, AFTER trying to shave her legs with a double bladed axe. Heheheh. :frowning:

You can understand why she is one of my “X’s”. Have a good one my friend . . . Mark.

looking cool, cneofotistos. looks like your skills are improving from amazing to best

Great start, Chris…ominous and with crystal clarity. Your nightmares are cinematic…Dali meets Cronenberg?
:+1: :+1: :+1:

now THAT is cool. :+1:

Looking great so far. The angle on the foot looks a tiny bit off, but not sure what you have planned with it. Glad I don’t have your nightmares

I believe you are all right about the foot. we’ll just have to see how good the Zbrush retouching tools can be, then

I really love both Dali and Cronenberg, Stonecutter. I like obscene and wicked art, sometimes. this is going to be one of them, I hope.

It looks like your med school studies have given you a “leg up” on modeling the human body. Sorry, I can never resist a bad pun. This reminds me of those Pompeiian volcano excavations. I’m sure looking forward to the rest of this.

Zoid, for that pun I hereby banish you to Noman.

(For anyone who doesn’t know, Noman is an island.)

Oh Aurick, “Noman” is an island. LOL. That reference takes me back a few years to my college Humanities class. Something about Homer’s Odessey and the Cyclops and a riddle that they had to solve. Anyone else remember this? Chris you’re Greek, help me out here. Now I’m really scratching my head

chris, that is some very fine modelling!

thanx lads.

lol, guys.

I don’t know, the pun was ok for american standards :D, but when you’ve read some Stephen Fry, british humour just gets the best of you.

the riddle you’re remembering is this:

Odysseus, when he met with Polyphemus the cyclops (and this is NOT s Xena script!) had the prividence to identify himself to him as Noman. (Kah-nees, is the pronounciation of the greek word)

When Odysseus had done his stuff down on Polyphemus, the cyclops was in a rage and began to blindly (pun intended) throw boulders against the Argo (Odysseus’ ship) as she was leaving the island.

after not succeeding, he was frothing with anger, so he woke up the rest of the cyclopses and asked them to avenge him. they in turn asked who they should take revenge upon. Polyphemus’s reply is the famous: “Noman”

the rest of them then dismissed this with the comico-tragical: “then if no man has harmed you, then why are you making such a fuss?”

those weren’t the times for cyclopses I suppose…
