Hiya people,

It was a few months back when I removed two trojan files from my computer and I’ve been sorting it out. I probably got them in the ZBrush IRC chat room, which I used to frequent upto last Christmas. I was suspicious for some time about being hacked, but luckily for me, I cautiously didn’t keep any valuable works on the machine I use for the internet (there’s only rubbish on it.) I’m sure my private details have been obtained but I’ll be keeping my eye out for trouble and any impersonators. I’ve already taken some steps in relation to this.

Also, for some reason, I was targetted by trolls when I posted on CGTalk (I only posted regularly there or on the ZBrush forum). Some nutter (or nutters) would use different identities to spam my threads and try to prevent anybody else from posting on them.

It beggars belief that I was being bugged for just posting on a couple of art boards! I mean, these people need a reality check.

Anyhow, I was actually going to stay silent about this, with being so disgusted by it all. However, I thought some of my friends here deserved to know why I have not been around.

If anybody’s got any info regarding this, please get in touch.

PS Although, I don’t have a lot of on-line time, I’ll be looking forward to getting back to some ZBrushing with ya, take care folks.

good news, indeed! shareshareshare all you did meanwhile and asap, Grub, i missed your z-posts a lot and was afraid it might have been due to the fact that some major corporation enslaved and forced you to forget about pixols :wink:

Long time no see Grubster! That sucks about the trojan thing. I have been having problems myself lately. I recently installed SpyBot and now my system is completely clean. There were tons of cr@p on my system that I didn’t know was there. IRC has been a little funky too. I can no longer DCC Send or DCC Chat. Strange stuff huh? Anyway…stick with us bud and we will cover yer back! :wink:

Good to hear from ya… your expertise is sorely missed around here! That sucks about the trojans and hackers… It takes all kinds!

Welcome back Grub , it seems a lot of people are having cpu probs lately.

it’s quite impossible to get a trojan on the irc zbrush chat if you never accepted any dcc sends and/or typed a special command that is usually send to you by onjoin spammers.

I used to have one and a program called The Cleaner 3 got rid of it , till then I could only block the hackers by using NetBuster (it had a nifty little option called “hack them back” :p)

Rascal. :smiley: I dunno if what you say is as clear cut as all that. DCC chat is one thing but IPs on display in a chat room is another. One thing strikes me as weird- you shouldn’t be in a chat room where your options are disabled for no good reason. Nevertheless, thanks for your input, Namek. :+1:

Thanks for your support, Sir Quad., Mik and Havran. :+1: I’m still getting trojan attacks at times so the anklebiters are still around. :-1:
