Newbie: stencils, single layer brush, morphs

Hey!

Making my second everymodel: a realistic hand. I used a stencil and projection master to model the front and back, projecting through the single layer brush. But I’m not sure how to best blend the side seams. How can I best blend the different heights in the topology between these front back and side maps I’m using at the seams? With the morph brush?

Thanks in advance. seam.jpg

are you turning the stencil off before ya pick up? you will want to do that.

if ya are then try using lower zintensity, play with the alpha curve, play with focal shift, play with rf settings.

somewhere in there will be the answer for that particular alpha. I have some that work well with some solutions while others need other solution combos.

you can also after pick up go to the lowest subd that you see the seam on and start using the smooth brush at a low intensity til it’s gone, go to next level up the intensity a bit …repeat, go to next level etc til the seam is gone…kind of a pain but it’s the best way to blend it in.

if ya used a morph target i reckon you could use the morph brush to blend the seams but take care in doing so as you would with the above mentioned way.

Very useful. Thanks for your time.
