I’m trying to model a head from a photo. First thing i did was to export V3 mesh (from poser). The idea is to use the object as a morph target in poser.
I began to work with zbrush, and i used my refernce photo as background. Then, i exported the .OBJ as a tool, and draw the face. The problems is, i need to make it transparent, so that i could model from the background photo. I tried using 3D copy, but it’s useless, because the texture moves as i deform the object. I need that picture in the background remains still. If someone could point me in the right direction, i will be very appreciated.
hi welcome lord kain,
here is one way you can go.
- place your reference in one layer ( for that, for example, choose plane tool, make settings same aspect ratio as your reference, choose as texture your reference and flat material…draw plane)
- make new layer. turn in render panel “flatten layers” OFF.
- choose basic material, and in the settings put transparency some high value, like 60…
- choose your head model and draw on layer, go into edit mode … now it should be half transparent, letting you see your reference image …
happy modeling
Hi Lord Kain Welcome¡¡
here is a script that is essentially what Kokoro already has pointed¡ Press in the script panel “Show actions and notes” to see step by step.
Thanks for your attention
