new zbrush models

Hey there,

here are a couple of images I just finished using Zbrush3 and Photoshop.

both models where started from a basic head canvas downloaded from this forum. Thanks for sharing your models and techniques, I love this place…

the teeth and eyes are subtools, as well as the hood, all started from a 3dsphere.
the witch was textured in zbrush and in photoshop using zapplink and polypainting
have not had the time yet for the australopitheque.

compositing and adjustements where done in photoshop.

Those images where created to be part of an exhibition of different art work from people in the UK movie industry who make monsters and creatures for a living and keep on doing stuff at home after work…
from oil paintings to silicone creatures to short movies , customised action figures , and much more…

if you are around London next week-end, 8th & 9th Feb 2008, you should come and have a look.
here is where you will find all that you need to know about this event:

meanwhile, please send your critics and comments,
a deadline is a deadline but there is always room for improvement.

thanks for looking.

Nice, nice!!! :+1:

Great details, and quite scary!
The ape has a real difference about him/her, I really like it. :+1:

I just checked out the myspace for the exhibition, I’ll be going without a doubt!
Thanks for the info & great work, once again.

Chris.

Nice stuff man! Love all the detail on the Witchie-poo.
Your ape has some real character to him too.

These are great. I love the ape head! That thing is schweeeeeet! Thanks for sharing!

Peace,

NickZ.

Holy cow. Those are both really well done. Could you fill me in on how you got all the subtle wrinkes (tools, and technique) also, how much of it is polypainted and how much is photoshopped? Very nice work though!

Hey Martin,

Just I can say that your art is incredible. I don’t knew you website :+1: Great works.
your works are an inspiration for me!

:+1: thank you for sharing the event, I hope somebody can share some pictures.

Congratulation!!!

The witch is F’n cool! So is the morlock ape thing!

Wow, your modeling is completely amazing.

I think that the adjusted Photoshop pic is less successful and does not hold my interest. It looks like it has been heavily adjusted and composited in Photoshop, if you know what I mean. And I guess the goal is to look like it hasn’t been, right?

I also think that the texture painting on the witch’s face is taking away from some of the intricately modeled detail. When I look at the model, it is amazing with tons of detail and character, but the texture painted over the top is marring the detail and hiding your hard work. Try to use cavity and surface painting that works with the natural modeling to bring out your hard work in the modeling.

But your modeling is really knocking me out. It is wonderful.

Hi Martin, have’nt seen you since “Red Planet”…bet you miss the good weather. Nice work too.

I’m in the area next week. I’m going to pop down and take a look around. It would be great to see some UK creature sculpts and animatronics.

Awesome modeling on the Witches neck and face!

Waw the grandma is terrific!

Great job!

thank you all for your critics

Bas Mazur, thanks.

Chris Andrews, come if you can, it should be sweet

frogspasm, nickz, metaballs, skullbeast, thanks all for taking the time to say that.

kaibosh, i do agree with you,the model is one thing and the photoshop image is another, just wqanted to present a really dark and moody image.
i’ll try playing with the materials.

im all inspired to finish my next one now,
yours are so full of character…

lovely stuff

thanks Col,bring it on,
so good to have a zbrush buddy like yourself
take care

kane, I use inflate at a low intensity and slash at z intensity 7 or 8 to get into the creases,
what I also love doing is using a leather skin alpha with the drag rectangle to apply nice random looking wrinkles and then enhancing those lines and wrinkles with the inflate tool to punch them up a bit.

I used very little zapplink on those, 90% polypainting.

I wish I could spend more of my time on such explorations and pure fun
will try to feed that thread with updates and other models very soon

thanks again for looking and taking time to drop a nice line.

Martin,

I’ve seen your traditional sculpts before, and these are just awesome. Very captivating work.

Great work, well done!
