Here’s a new project I’m starting on, The Thing from the Fantastic Four. C & C’s are most welcomed. Please forgive the eyes, I can see they are way to far apart.

I think your base mesh is a solid start Truu. I really like the exaggerated brow and mouth. Also I think the overall proportions are pretty neat. However there’s a few things… the brow should stay the size it is but be curved down instead of up. Ben Grimm, although a luvable-lunk… is sortof a grump. I think the legs and feet are right but the toes seemed flatter in the books. The arms look cool only the middle fingers should be a touch larger than the others, and the thumbs could be slightly bigger. Looking forward to see what you do with the sculpting. Keep on!
I agree with all things Paison Pawn said,
It is a very good start, take a look in some anatomy references of humans too, the chest fusion with the arms an the legs.
keep it up !!
cheers .,
Thanks Poisoin pawn, and Dggava for the c&c’s. They have most certainly come in handy. Im trying to mask out the muscles before I go in with the rock skin texture that the Thing is known for. I don’t want the detail to hide his muscle structure.

Nice pose bro I like the character only crit I have is that maybe the stone texture is to small.
I looked at too different reference and non off them had small stones like your model.
Hope this helps.
Thanks rjsmal for the comments ad critique, Ive seen different interpretations of the things skin, but I think your correct with the size of the stone texture. I’ll make some revisions later today and then you can tell me what you think.

While I really like how this is turning out, my only critiques would be around the wrist area, the neck, and the top of the skull. His wrists on the model appear too thick - where in the drawing you can see more separation between the hands and wrists. The Thing has always traditionally has a head a bit separate from the body - where as yours, the head is coming out of the body. Finally the Top of his skull is very small, yet the drawing shows a very rounded top to his head! Where is the ever lovin blue eye boy from Yancy Street going to keep his brain? Keep it up though, because he’s looking really good so far.
Your welcome Truu.
BTW is that your concept? if it is then awesome, the stone size are perfect on the concept.
good luck man I can’t wait to see your progress.
Take care
Another update, because of work it’s taking me a little more time to complete than anticipated. Still alot to be done but as alway’s c&c’s are welcomed. And for all those who have posted, thank you for your kind words and insight. Also for the record I did not draw that sketch of the Thing, but used it along with many others as a reference.
Thanks again.

It’s been a while since my last post, but i have been able to make some minor changes and additions to the Scene. Any C&C’s are most helpful and welcome. Its still a work in progress, just need to actually work on making more progress part. lol
