I own a perpetual license going back many years. I don’t want to buy a new one in order to get new versions, way too expensive under the new Maxon pricing, plus for my purpose ZBrush is already near perfect. Running ZBrush 2022.07, should I get the new upgrade that is available as of today, and is this a free upgrade ?
I am assuming that Maxon will discontinue maintenance for older ZBrush versions, perpetual license or not ?

regarding the new ZBrush update, it’s only free for ZBrush 2023.x users and not for the 2022.x users like you and me.
You are right, Maxon will not continue the maintenance for Zbrush 2022.x, that means you will not get any new updates for 2022.x. The 2022.7 was the last one.
And I agree with you, the current upgrade price of 675 Euro e.g. from my standard SW reseller is too high for me as a hobby user.

For Maxon it makes sense not to continue 2022 maintenance, I did not expect them to, that’s why I was surprised to get that automated message to update. Maxon / Zbrush explained to me that this is the final and last update for ZBrush 2022, I just did it and have now ZBrush2022.08 . No new features as far as I know, just some bug fixes. It was free, you could call it a farewell gift ;-).
I just hope that Maxon will drop that upgrade price eventually, for the time being I am very happy with the 2022 version.
