New to 3D... my orthographic drawings

Hey all. I’m a web design guy by trade but have always had an interest in 3D since I was a kid. I’m going through the process of learning it now, starting with some basics in Maya and Zbrush. As you can see from my drawing below, I have a lot of learning to do. I’m having a really hard time getting the arm in the front view to look correct. Any tips?

I would model that hand strictly from the side view, so don’t worry so much for drawing it at the moment, as a matter of fact you could just erase it from the front, that way you can clearly see his body and leg clearly from the front. The reason your having problems with it by the way is you have some perspective that`s throwing you off.

not bad sofar! I would look at the front image: the arm is going a lot lower then on the side view there. Make sure that all is lining up in all views…otherwise this is useless to do and will only throw you off during modeling. good luck!:+1:

yeah i agree with squeige. youre drawing with perspective, becuase thats what youre used to. but with something that small its not really going to help you having a front view for it. just model it from the side. you def want to have the body line up though. good luck

I think you can even rough out a ZSphere form first to help with the design decision. Then you can even start sculpting and define your character then.
