New Plugin: AXIS alignment button set

I took the alignment buttons from the Moldy Zscript and set them up as a six button plugin group called Axis.

Unzip and put AXIS.ZSC file into the Zdata\Zplugs subdirectory. Start up ZBrush and you will find six buttons that give you six different views of your model - front, back, left, right, top, bottom.

Control-Drag the buttons and setup as a set on your interface.

Besides aligning the model, the buttons restore the previous script that was active before the button was pressed. I’m not sure if this feature is helpful or not… feedback appreciated.

Hi Swen
Can you just put a little image ?
Objects are align on a same no particular line, or on the axes 0/0/0 ?
I suppose this can’t work with the 1.55b ?

Hi Frenchy,

Actually, the AXIS plug-in buttons (which only work with ZB2) work exactly like the buttons inside Moldy. I believe some people who needed the AXIS buttons were using Moldy mostly just for that. (Yes, I know you can just snap to any axis using the Shift button, but the AXIS buttons snap immediately to Front, Back, Left, Right, Top and Bottom - sometimes its good to get there directly, and know it.)

So, now these buttons are available for use with other plugins. I also tried to make the button set user friendly by hitting the Zscript:Previous button as the last command, which reloads the Zscript being used before the AXIS button was pressed. I think this helps, but can’t be sure in all cases.

Anyway, I hope people can make good use of the buttons…

Hi ,

i got downloaded your script .

By the way ,do you think it goes on my 155 demo ?

Dario,
i think this script don’t work on Z155b…

cameyo

Nearly missed this. Smart little set of buttons, I like the return to previous zscript feature. I was wondering how to get around that, thanks. Maybe your buttons could also set a variable in a memory block. That way a zscript running in the Zscript window could detect that it was reloaded and try to recover previous settings. The memory block should have an identifier known to all zscripters. Maybe Pixolator has left an unused memory block for that purpose? The Preferences : Utilities : Temp Value’s could also be used, but I don’t think that is the safest solution.

Rudra: Svengali’s script will not work with 1.55b. Try his other scripts instead. Moldy 2 or Moldy 1.5.
