New Member - Exo Suit Suggestions?...

Howdy,

I’m a previous lurker and Z3 compelled me to finally join this nice community.

I’m working on this guy and I could use your help:

I was hoping for your advice on where to take him…

My idea was that he’s a Sam Fisher type (or Batman Begins-ish) and his exo suit
has attributes that allow him greater abilities (borderline super-human stuff?) in spying
and the occasional assassination of ‘the enemy’.

Right now I’m thinking the suit will:

  • be of superior resistance to impact, yet conform to his body (meshy texture)
  • have additional armor ‘plating’ to minimize trauma in as many areas as possible
    (basically what you see above)
  • allow for some tampering into the wearer’s chemistry for strength/endurance
enhancement (so maybe cabling/wires/tubes going to CPU-motor-backpack he’s wearing)
  • cloaking potential via knob on his upper right chest area
  • hydrolic-driven? retractable knife on his right arm
  • some sorta shield that originates from his left forearm armband
  • potentially, he will wear a skull-cap/mask thingy, so his head may be concealed
  • he may also need some form of holster or 2 for projectile weapons

Here’s more screenshots:

and here’s a turntable of where I’m at right now:

What you see is still very much unfinished. The feet will be replaced with
hi-tech booties (more like rock-climber’s booties, but offering more support
as well, so a bit of a heel and some toe armor).

The head is not finalized and I’m still leaning towards a helmet/facemask
combo.

The hands need work and may get some techie gloves as well.

The weapons and holster(s) need to be designed.

At this point, it’d be great to get some ideas and suggestions (or critics)
as I’m kinda floundering a bit.

Thanks alot!

forgot to add this…

this was the state of the model before I started masking and extracting parts
for the armor/suit (prolly should have just left ‘sockies’ on his feet instead of
toes :o ):

some progress…

I think the eye area is a bit large right now, but I’m still not sure if the
face will ever be seen (or if that’ll be the face used).

I’m still welcoming any suggestions

Looking good.

How about some sort of flat bands of metal to represent he exo-skeleton over his limbs and joints, these bands would help augment his strength.

He’ll also need a nice steely glove-hand with similar bands.

The mask looks like it could have hoses running from it, some kind of rebreather apparatus?

:+1:

thanks for the suggestions, Inteppa.

I might give them a try. I think I can picture what you mean
(kinda like those special knee-joint braces that quarterbacks use…).

For now I’ve tried a little gas strut-type thingy on the legs and
one arm (I like your idea about the glove…might try to incorporate
it a bit better on the left arm). I’ve also put in a grill on the mask
front and added the hoses/wires that join to the backpack.

and here’s some pics of the details:

Next I guess I’ll do something with his booties and fix his hands…maybe
do something about his ears too–techie auditory devices I suppose.

cheers.
