New Interview - Gentle Giant Studios

As you know, we are constantly looking for artists and studios who are using ZBrush in new or innovative ways. This time around, we’ve had the opportunity to interview Scott Spencer and Gentle Giant Studios.

One of the really fascinating things about this interview is how Gentle Giant is using ZBrush to not only create characters for the game, but tie-in figures that fans of the game can literally get their hands on!

Thank you, Scott, for taking the time to talk to us!

While on ZBrush.com we’d like to invite you to also check out some of our past interviews. The entire list can be found here.

Happy ZBrushing!

Hey Scott.
You call that work!
Looks like fun to me.
Really nice learning more about the work flow you guys
partake over at CGS.
My hats off to the pixologic team as well for another great interview.
So… Santa Spencer, In my stocking I would like to find… Umm… Just kidding.
Cheers

Awesome, i wish you guys all success!

I also wish to wish (?) Mr. Spencer the very best of luck and wish(?) to remind everyone that it was Scott Spencer who spent considerable amount
of his own time to help and guide members of this forum, particularly
in the areas of Maya and displacement mapping.
If it were not for his patience and help, my lifeless body would at this
moment be lying at the bottom of New York Harbor.
I have many bad qualities, amnesia ain’t one of them.
Thank you again, Mr. Spencer.

( lot of wishes, huh?)

who is manuel martinez and why is he editing stuff?

the octopus stuff was the most amazing stuff in the harry potter movie. Wish you could post more pics. Great job.

Thanks everyone!

Lemme see what i can do about your stocking Cesar : )

bicc39: Im glad that video helped out… I have a new one in the works I just need to record audio on it, updated info

AVTPro: Yeah the Grindylow rocked! The one pictured in the article I sculpted
from reference photos of the original maquette since the data of the original model was unavailabe.

Video was great and did the trick.

But what impressed me was how you helped each and everyone
who asked you questions.
Saw a few posts aimed your way that lacked simple courtesy.
Yet you had patience and answered every question with tact and understanding
Won a bet on you.
As I told you, my better half thought I had paid for the video.
When I told her the circumstances and showed her a few of your
answers, we made a friendly wager on when we would hear from
you again and under what conditions.

Best of luck and continued success.

Gotta admit, I just did your tutorial for ZB/MR two nights ago.

Got it for the first time. Very Happy to finally make it happen in Maya.

And if you have one of the those Octo meshes hanging around…would love to do a small test animation

Forgive me if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but where did the old interviews go? I was trying to find the GG one. Thanks
