I need a new computer badly (preferably under US $2000). I have configured 2 systems for comparison. The specs are here:
I haven’t heard of Titan computers but, I’m liking what I see. After talking to a representative, I’m now considering the Titan X 199 because the CPU has a different socket that allows me to upgrade in the future. He said the one I spec’d has “the fastest CPU out there but I won’t be able to upgrade it due to it’s smaller socket”. Of course, my professor suggested an HP Z series workstation, but I’ve spec’d it out over my $2000 limit (it’s $2,356 US$). Should I spec the HP differently, or is the Titan a better choice?
I use 3DS Max and Premiere Pro, ZBrush, Photoshop, Marvelous designer, etc. I really need some help from people who use these programs. I don’t know a thing about socket size or the difference between Xeon, Skylake, or Broadwell CPU’s, so please, Please give me some guidance if you can. I’ll add the Titan X 199 specs here too.
If you have any advice, I’d really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance, I love Pixologic and the community here…you’re awesome!
