Being a real fan of Giger’s work (and yours by homage) I’m excited to see your latest! It will be top row when it’s textured, I’m sure.
Holy SmokeS!!! It’s lookin’ so awesome already! Is it Gigerism or you just pluck this out of thin air?
I wonder how it’d look like completed…
hello again,
I’m still working on this creature and that I like to show it now to you guys.
To your questions:
the cables and tubes are all subtools.
and the design was born by my own fantasy and this time I had really no concept.
I was starting with a Sphere for the head and after a while a was thinking it would be nice to have a chest and shoulders.
so I create this parts with a second sphere.
then I made one mesh with this two tools and as last I made a new mesh with
topolgy

Wow, Roland, this guy really is putting the “mechanical” in biomechanical!
Can you do a best render with a real shader instead of one of the Matcap materials so we can see the better shadows?
I know it will be beautiful when you polypaint it…you do plan to?
Best,
Markkens
I really like this character… very inspirational to me… thanks
just a quick update.
Cheers Guys

yes i like this biomech stuff. pretty nice.
i like those surfaces since i saw the first works of arnaldo pomodoro and some early works of eduardo paolozzi.
if i have a short formula it would go like this:
pomodoro cut it out of, paolozzi put in on it.
both where sculptist who works with surfaces on scultpings in a new way.
pomodoro was more organic-like, paolozzi was more mechanic-like.
im sure they have inspire3d giger too.
check them out if u can.
one more update

Wow I love all the details. I think the weakest part of the model is the face. Mainly the eyes and mouth.
howd u do the pipes or wires going into him and out? im assume not in zbrush? but just curious
Very nice. The texturing (especially in the cavities) really brings out the mechanics.

This rendered in Zbrush?
