New at Zbrush, no idea how to utilise it

Hey im very new at all this, i downloaded zbrush to make a few edits to stls for wargaming 3d printing, I am using the zbrush mini core 2021 but i cannot load any of my stls into it, and there are little to no converters for stl/obj into a zpr or any of the other accepted formats (still not sure how gif and png are 3d formats, i cant convert a 3d file into either of these…) By no means am i a sculptor or know what i am doing, all i wanted was a function to delete in a settable area to remove bits pre print. Does anyone know a file converter stl/obj into zpr or anything that coremini will read?

Hi @DanDaBikerMan Welcome to ZBrush Central!

ZBrushCore Mini is great as an introduction to sculpting in ZBrush but very limited in what you can do with it in regards to importing and exporting. I think a better fit for your needs would be MeshLab. It’s open source software (free) and is made specifically for the type of things you want to do ie: cleaning up stl’s for 3D print. There are lots of tutorials on Youtube on it’s capabilities and how to’s in using it. Hope this helps!

Hello @DanDaBikerMan ,

ZBrushCore contains the features you would need to do this. The full version of ZBrush would have an even broader feature set for mesh editing.

CoreMini is not designed for the purpose you are attempting to use it for.

Good luck!

@zber2 Thank you i shall try meshlabs next.
Im sorry to waste your time i am not talented enough to justify a subscription fee. I hope meshlabs works as i have gotten alot of damage trying to cut resin and its not worth the effort to saw/sand through 28mm scale minis.
Thanks for all your help
