Thanks GM, sounds useful!

cool hehehe I will have to compare this to ez’s script…he is the mysterious fella who apparently was banned or something from here cuz all previous posts seem to be ā€œeditedā€ but ran into him somewhere with a bunch of useful z2scripts however I can’t remember where it was I ran into him.

I know this will be a great addition to zbrush and should really have been done long ago eh?

It seems gamemaster you are a great addition too!

Thank you very much - it is appreciated
and added to my collection which I must
get to use and learn. :+1:

Hi Richard,

Hey! This is very cool.

I like it so much I think I’ll add it right into the Moldy2 interface as it could be very useful integrated with the other modeling tools already in there. As it is now, when I adjust your transparency slider I lose the Moldy2 interface in the script window and have to hit the reload button for Moldy2 to jump back in.

Nice work!

Sven

I just discovered this little trick yesterday. NOw, to have a script that makes the adjustment within edit mode…awesome!! Thank you tons!!

Ahhhh, very well, Game Master, you did it!

This one should be built directly into Zbrush, works like a charm!

Actually it is!! It’s just strange to get to. when in Edit mode, turn off edit mode, then change your RGB Intensity, now turn on edit mode again. My plug is just a shortcut to make those 3 actions into 1 interactive feature.

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> It’s switching scripts, you don’t need to reload, you just need to use the ā€œPreviousā€ button. If you use Moldy alot, I suggest you move the ā€œPreviousā€ button to the shelf. Or, if you disable 3d Opacity when you are done, by clicking outside of slider, you can use the ā€œLeft Arrowā€ hotkey.

Actually, Richard, I’ve been using both Previous and Next (Left key / Right key) that way ever since I began using Zbrush. But with Z2, I’ve setup several ā€œlaunchā€ buttons on the bottom of the left shelf so I can jump directly between any of my four favorite scripts.

Of course the definitive multi-ZScript manager is the ZLauncher script from Pixolator, which lets you organize and directly call any number of your favorite Zscripts.

Anyway, my original point was that a transparency slider button fits nicely into a spare slot right inside the Moldy2 interface so now I don’t even need to leave the Moldy2 script to set 3d opacity!

So, as I said before, thanks for pointing out the shortcut…

Sven

GameMaster, IĀ“v tryied your opacity plugin — it works FUNtastic… thank you :+1: :+1:

Another thing the plug-in is useful for!

testing alphas on 3d tools. a little known gem is that if you draw an object, with a texture map and some kind of alpha channel, and the rgb Intensity is not 100, you get the alpha overlayed on your texture, on the 3d object.

Since this is the area ā€˜3d Opacity’ modifies, you can test and try out an alpha on your 3d object.

simply add your object as usual and put it in edit mode. make sure a texture map and alpha are selected. now adjust your 3d Opacity slider so it’s not 100. bingo. Alpha texture combo.

I wonder if there is another way to do this, like adding an alpha channel to the texture, within zbrush.

thanks’ for the EZ link, but 1 foreum is enough for me.
I think I know why EZ’s posts are modified. Just a guess, but he was an early zscript programmer, and I suspect he was invited to be a beta tester for version 2, and slipped up somewhere. now he’s banned.

Any reason it says ā€œThis person is on your Ignore Listā€ ??

I remember a while back, something went wrong with his account and his name wouldn’t display on posts. Like, for everyone else, there’d be a white dot and then their name, but EZ only had a white dot.

That doesn’t seem to be the case there anymore, but I just noticed the ignore problem myself last night. Went and confirmed, there are no users on my ignore list, least of all EZ. But somehow, the empty void where his account name should be matches the empty void of my not ignoring anyone, so here we are.

It’s not right. Hopefully, an administrator will fix that for him soon.

edit:
Actually, I think the no-name thing was here. Which is darn suspicious for something to go wrong with his account on two seperate forums. I wonder if this isn’t something he did to himself both times?

EZ is still alive and well, plus as helpful as ever.

In fact on a still night if one looks closely enough… fleeting glimpses of EZ abound.

Nice script GM770. I like it.

hey everyone,

i can’t see why this isn’t working for me, all that this plugin does is change the diffuse or the darkness of the colour, from light to dark grey.

i try getting out of edit mode then changing RGB intensity and nothing happens there. I am missing something here.
Could someone record what they are doing or if my mistake is obvious fish slap me.

thanks.

try this and see what happens…

load any texture and use it to fill the layer, now draw your obj ontop. Now adjust the 3dopacity slider and see if you can see thru it or not.

ah ha…i was always creating another layer to edit the object on, in the default layer it worked.

yay, can now get started on my cherub creation.
