New 3D Fractal Tests

Hi all!

I got bored today so i figured i try to make some more 3d fractals like i did before and posted here. Now i got a few new pics i post here again. The main fractals i made with Xenodream and then i exported those as .obj to ZB2 where i mapped them and setup lights and ofcourse rendered them. Credits go to the creators of the shaders i used  they are what make these models look like something.
And i’m sorry about the somewhat large pics and the amount of pics i post at the same time for any 56k users on here…

Hey max, nice tests…

Could you post the link, or the shaders you used? They looks too cool…

Thanks  they were fun to create, a bit out of the ordinary ZB art found on the forum. Not that it’s something wrong with that. However the links u asked for to those shaders are these…

I’m not quite 100% sure where i found the golden nugget like shader but i suspect it comes from this pack of 100 shaders, if it’s not this one then search the forum for different shaderpacks and download all those  it’s in there somewhere

cool stuff max. i really dig the second image. you should maybe try it on a darker background to have it jump out more.

Thanks  i’m happy to hear you like them. And yep i can agree with you that something better than the default gray background would do better, but i got kinda lazy and forgot about all that and just rendered away with the default background in ZB2 and then i grab a screenshot right off  it’s fast and easy. On my next creation i’ll be sure to take your suggestion on another background

Just bought this because of your post. I’d use UltraFractal from time to time and I never knew about this program. It takes a while to render the meshes but I’m surprised at how well they come out when in Zbrush. Usually when you import triangles, there is all sorts of distortion when you try to divide the mesh but the exports from Xenodream are nice and clean. I’ll be using this for a while.

Heya

Congrats to your first 3d fractal  it looks good this one u made. Makes me happy to hear you bought Xenodream because of my pics here.

The mesh generation usually takes time depending on the detail u want, and the obj meshes tend to grow huge but i think it’s all worth the time and filesizes to see the fractals as 3d models  it’s just too cool. Keep up the good work man and i’m looking foward to seeing more of your future fractalized creations

I hope you don’t mind if I jump in here also. I finally got to test out the object export. Here’s one of mine, the second one is the same object, just “cubed” in ZBrush.
