Never get out of the boat.

Remember the scene in Apocalypse Now where the lion leaps out of this Henri Rousseau landscape. And Martin Sheen utters the immortal words which were ignored “never get out of the boat, damn right”

As we get older it is the duty of those older and more experienced in the travails of life to give a few handy hints to the youngsters.

Here’s one: when massaging and using oil, ALWAYS place the top on the oil immediately, otherwise it WILL go over. 100%

Here’s another one that I have been telling users of my computer for ages and I ignored my own advice and now suffer the consequence. So as a public service announcement to those with graphic tablets: NEVER ever walk away from the computer with the stylus. ALWAYS place it in that dinky little holder. Sometimes you will get away with placing it in your top pocket for a moment while you answer the phone, but do not be lulled into a false sense of security. Even putting the stylus next to the tablet can result in it rolling under the tablet with valuable minutes of your life wasted.

Yesterday I commited the CARDINAL SIN, I left the workstation with my pen, only for the briefest instant. Then a tiny distraction. Then back to the computer. Oh oh no pen. I have since turned the whole house upside down. I have paid the price, years of dilligence undone in one mad moment. Don’t let this happen to you. Becoming reacquainted with the mouse is not fun.

I go along with your message on the graphics pen, I’ve spent so much time looking for it after taking it away with me. How do you deal with the keyboard Gremlins though, who steal my keys when I’m trying to type, suddenly I can’t find a G or X etc.

I`ve had mine grafted on in place of a finger. Helps when you get an itchy bum too.

Hope you find it.

ROTFLMAO

Southern, I imaging it also helps with digging out boogers, no?

Thelonious, if you find your stylus you should equip it with a proximity alarm, set to go off whenever the pen moves more than three feet from the computer. I swiped the essential circuitry from my ankle bracelet the last time I was under house arrest and grafted it to the pen. Of course, it’s a bit embarassing to have the cops show up over a graphics pen, but from the tone of your post it sounds like a price you’d gladly pay.

(I am kidding, by the way.)

I hope it turns up for you, though. And that it doesn’t wait to do so until the day after you buy a new one!

Aurick in the UK pens are 70 quid that’s $US 100 so I didn’t rush out. It finally turned up though after an inch by inch search. And guess what, it was in the last place I looked.

Have you ever noticed that when you try to find something it is always in the last place you look? Do you know why that is? Because when you find it you stop looking LoL

Why is it so difficult to place the pen in the holder? Why do we even bother walking away with our pens in hand. It is as if we know that we will return to the computer soon and we don’t want to waste a whole second picking the pen up. It will be already in our hot little hands, so eager are we not to lose one second.

I even find myself placing the pen in my mouth if I need to type something in. As it is quicker than putting the pen in the holder. Even though it is very difficult to hold a sylus in your mouth. Because we have to keep out teeth off it. Not only that we are aware that it is a piece of electronic equipment so we have to be extra careful not to let our saliva dribble into the rocker switch. It all seems so much work, even now as I type this I can feel my lips cramping at the terrible contortions I must endure in order not to place this damn pen in it’s little holder. Will I ever learn?

PS when I checked this post here is what I saw, Maybe its the recent sun activity.
