need to learn Z-Brush in a week-----------

hey,
i work at a small studio and we just picked up z-brush. basically learning the program and then applying it is up to me.
i have to have a pretty good working knowledge of it by next week to show clients.

please direct me to websites or tutorials for beginners and intermediate…especially begginer. i can barely navigate through it now.

thanks in advance, im sure you’re info will be more than helpful

My recommendations for DVD’s won’t do you any good in that amount of time, since the delivery times would eat up most of your week.

As for websites and tutorials; you are here. But first go through the Practical Guide, and use the online help and tutorials. then come back here and go through the Quicklinks>Getting Started and the Essentials. then use the FAQ Forum.
All here on zbrushcentral.

But the first place to start is to define what it is you wish to accomplish in a week. Do you have a specific illustration or painting or sculpture that you have to present? if so, focus on learning those tools that will get you there, and disregard the rest for now.

Good luck.

Pretty much take up the Pratical guide, then head over to the video tutorials and techniques on the Pixologic web page and you will have a pretty clear understanding of it all.

Would your studio also be hiring at this time? :stuck_out_tongue:

www.3dgamics.com has a brilliant tutorial on doing a head in zb with a super simple mesh from max import the simple mesh doesnt even have any eyes or anything its all created in zb it rocks!

Also go to www.ZBrush.com and click the Education button. The ZClassroom has a lot of stuff.

Don’t forget, either, about the Pixologic-released tutorials, which you can find linked from the sticky at the top of the Main forum here at ZBC.

See zbrush has many differnt uses from 3d modeling to 2d illustrations.

texturing is also all together different approach compared to basic 3d softwares.

So get hold of just one part say 3d modeling and learn it properly.

Also dont forget to learn bump maps , normal maps and displacement maps
after you get going with sculpting.

one week is too less a time, so try out few built in zscripts in the software itself.

best of luck.
