Need Master ZB Artist to make custom video tutorials

Hi,

I am seeking a VERY good master ZB artist that knows ZB 3.5R3 inside and out. What I need is someone that will custom make video tutorials for me on topics I need to learn in more detail than anything covered here or elsewhere. I have seen all the video tutorials, including the ones you can buy and they are WAY too short and frankly don’t convey the information very well or in enough detail.

What I need is someone that will provide me with in-depth training on any topic I need covered in ZB. It will require a working knowledge of how to import other base mesh models into ZB for sculpting such as Poser/Daz models and other such use too. I need the tutorials to be quite long, perhaps 1-2 hours depending on topics needed, going slow and showing the details (i.e. keyboard shortcuts when used, why this is being done as opposed to that, etc.)

I had someone that was helping me with custom tutorials for learning ZB and they were the best I had ever seen. But, it has been over 3 months since I was able to have them help me because they have been gone and I am stuck on certain areas. They were charging a reasonable fee for them and I would be happy to pay anyone that can do similar work too. You must be able to speak English and have skills to make it easy to understand just like a teacher would for someone that has no idea what any subject is they are teaching.

If anyone out there that is a MASTER ZB artist can help me, PLEASE send me a PM here.

Thanks.

Still looking for help. I had a few replies, but no one was PROFESSIONAL enough to follow through and back up what they said. Also, please note I am an individual, NOT a business. While I expect to pay for someone to help, I don’t expect to be asked to pay an unreasonable fee. The master ZB artist that was helping me believed in giving back and helping others learn. They said this is a “community of artists helping artists and were happy to assist when possible”. In that spirit I am hoping someone can reply to me and help with my request for detailed video tutorials.

One way I had been working with the artist was he would do screen sharing with me and record the sessions. That way I could ask questions as he went along and could go into more detail if needed right on the spot.

Thanks for any offers, please read my posts in full though before replying.

Still looking for someone to team up with. Any master ZB artists that are interested please send a PM.

Thanks.

Perhaps go through the video tutorials found at:

www.thegnomonworkshop.com
www.digitaltutors.com
www.eat3d.com

The tutorials found there are very indepth, and coupled with experimentation on our own, is how many of the professionals here learned what we know. There is no magic button chief. Just watch the tutorials, set up projects for yourself to use what you’ve learned to reinforce the concepts in your mind and when you run into problems come and ask at any of the forums (zbcentral, cgtalk, evermotion,3dtotal etc etc). That’s basically how it works man.

Yes, I know that as I have learned other programs. But sculpting is quite different and as I stated in my prior post above, NONE of those so called “pro” video tutorials are any good. In fact, the master ZB arist helping me said the same thing because he has seen all of them and thought they were poorly done lacking detail. Once you have someone that is a truly skilled master ZB artist that helps you via screen sharing and videos, it shows just how lacking they are in details. If there was a decent manual, such as Photoshop CS5 “Missing Manual” then I would be good to go. But there is nothing out there like that for ZBrush 3.5R3. Even more, when my guy was helping me he showed me things specific for what I wanted to learn that simply are not covered anywhere in any of these videos or forums. He gave GREAT detail and instruction which is why I learned more from the help from him than anything before. Once you get someone that is a true master showing you and walking you through things it helps beyond anything.

As an example, he was showing me how to fill in lines in a face sculpt where they are too deep and you wanted them less. He explained which brushes were best to use and why, what not to use, methods for filling them in, etc. He also showed how to make a single brush stroke for a face line be more deep without going over the stroke again using “layers” and other methods. Also, he came up with some unique brushes that would help me in fine face sculpting. These are certainly NOT things you would ever learn or get by any of the generic videos. That is why I REALLY appreciated his help so much. He was a true PROFESSIONAL in both his work and as a gentlemen.

That is why I stated that he said there are other master ZB artists out there willing to help and give back to the community but you have to look hard to find them and to try here. This is why I am trying to find someone to fill in for times when they are too busy on a project to help that I can continue with someone in the mean time. Also I found that a lot of people will make a lot of claims but not be able to back them up and follow through on what they said.

" NONE of those so called “pro” video tutorials are any good"

Although you are entitled to your opinion I would say that is a remarkably arrogant, ill informed and honestly, unprofessional opinion to hold.

“Once you have someone that is a truly skilled master ZB artist that helps you via screen sharing and videos, it shows just how lacking they are in details.”

Care to share which videos you have watched from ZB masters that were lacking. Zack Petroc, Scott Patton, Ian Joyner, Aaron Sims etc etc have all taken their time to share their screens and create videos that are extremely detailed as it pertains to their workflow.

“Even more, when my guy was helping me he showed me things specific for what I wanted to learn that simply are not covered anywhere in any of these videos or forums.”

The only reason they are not covered anywhere in any of the videos or forums is because you don’t ask. Go ahead, post any and all questions you have and I will be willing to place a bet that you WILL get an answer. That’s the nature of our artistic community; to help one another and push one another to attain to a higher level of professionalism in both our artistic as well as interpersonal relationship skills. ahem

““there are other master ZB artists out there willing to help and give back to the community but you have to look hard to find them and to try here.””

Um, the folks that have taken time from their professional careers to share what they have learned with the rest of us IS giving back to the community. They don’t HAVE to do that and I’m rather appreciative of their having done so.

Sorry man, this industry isn’t for people that need their hand held through each and every single issue they run into. Our profession requires problem solving skills on your part. If you have an issue, ASK. There will ALWAYS be people willing to help if you don’t act douchey. i.e. post threads denigrating the efforts of professionals in our line of work trying to help you by sharing their knowledge. Totally wrong way of going about getting help chief.

First, I think you have taken my post out of context and made your own personal assumptions. Your post and inferences are what are truly unprofessional here. I never said anyone specifically was not good, only they were not the same quality as what a master ZB artist helping you can obtain. I stand fully by everything I said and that is because I know the difference. If you want an example, how about comparing the poor quality of Eats3D Intro to ZBrush 3.5 with what I learned. There video is way too short, not well detailed by leaving out keyboard shortcuts, what they are doing, why, etc. Compare their brief “intro” to a full blown 2 hour walk through of the ZB UI showing how each menu item works, keyboard shorts, how to use “Lightbox” etc. That is just one example. So yes, I do feel these videos are poorly done. Not all of them, but most of the ones you pay for. I never said the free ones were bad or not of any use because they are and some are a LOT better than the so called “pro” ones they charge for.

Your lack of understanding and willingness to put me down only reflects poorly upon yourself. As I made no personal insults to any individual. It was a general statement on the quality of the paid for tutorials and information available and I know there are others that share my feelings too including master ZB aritists. The only thing I wanted to convey is the fact I was looking for help from a master ZB artist that was willing to do so and actually be professional enough to follow through on their claims. You have no idea how many people are not professionals and will say they will do something but never follow through or be able to back up their claims when the time comes. Also, if someone pays for something, you should get as much “hand holding” as you want. On the other hand if someone was kind enough to help, they may be willing to since they are teaching you something you do not know anything about. The other person helping me was working with a company step-by-step, just like me helping them with “hand holding” along. That is what you do if you need help and are the one helping someone with something. Not many people are good teachers though.

Anyway, I was not insulting anyone personally and no one should take it that way.

Best wishes to all.

Welp, best of luck to you man. Sorry if I interpreted your message the wrong way.
