Need help with TPoseMesh-Maya-TPose/SubT

Anyone have experience with using this pipeline: Transpose Master, TPoseMesh, exporting to Maya, building rig, pose, Export Geo back to ZB over TposeMesh, and finally using TPose/SubT and have all subD info on the newly posed model?

I did a few early tests and it worked but now after building a full rig in Maya and posing my model I can not get my subD levels back.

I am working with a model of a skeleton with 255 subtools with no UV’s. I enter Tposemesh and export that model into Maya to pose. I keep all names of the 255 lo-res objects the same inside Maya. When I import the posed model back into ZB, I do not get the “new topology warning,” i get the “X amount of unused verts have been deleted” dialog. The posed mesh replaces the Tpose mesh and when I hit TPose/SubT it goes through the motions but I end up with a ugly distorted mesh.

What step(s) am I missing?

Anyone with experience doing this? Do I need to follow a different pipeline? Please help!

Thanks!

You have floating verts.

run mesh cleanup on all of your independent meshes inside of Zbrush.

Before building a complex rig and skinning it always just build an emply null and full skin the entire mesh to that then attempt to send it back to ZBrush.

It’ll let you know quickly if there is an issue with the mesh before you go through all the hassle of skinning.

Once you get that working, rename your current skinned mesh and thentransfer the skin weights from your current mesh to one that will work.
