Navigating between objects - help!

A couple of week into trying to learn z brush and I am still totally baffled by some aspects of the interface.

I create a new document, select, say, the polysphere tool, draw an object into the document, click edit, sculpt it a little - now I unselect edit and draw another object into the document, which at this point is a second instance of the edited polysphere - how do I go back and carry on editing the first instance?

Or delete it?

Much Thanks .

You can Ctrl+N to clear your first instance. If you want two of the same Tool you can Duplicate it under Tools>Subtools or Copy/Paste

All depends on what you are trying to do. Are you wanting to create a 3D model to keep working on are are you trying to create a 2.5D image on the canvas? I assume you want to create a 3D model here, in which case do NOT go out of EDIT mode. Once you do that and click on the canvas you will not be able to edit it again.

If you want to add another subtool to work on you will leave the first in Edit mode and will then have to Insert another.

Being new, yes, there is a lot to learn. But hang in. I suggest you go through all of Pixologic’s tutorials (the basics at the very least) and any you can find on YouTube (tons). I must have watched hundreds of hours of videos and am still learning all the time. I am envious of the Pixo ZB gurus who seem to just whip through it like whirling dervishes!

Thanks, Lensman888, Wyattfox, I was beginning to think that must be how it works but to me it just seemed so unnatural I thought I must be doing something wrong!

On learning resources - I signed up to Lynda.com specifically to get their ZB tutorial - it’s looking very good so far!
