Native American head for normal mapping

Hello all… this is my first work post on this forum…

We’ve been working hard on GUN, but finally have some down time, so I wanted to do some personal work…

Heres a Native American head I have been tinkering with… it’s at the point now that I have started adding details (starting with the forehead)…

Anyhow, Ill post progress in here as it comes…

btw… anyone have any good settings or brushes for simulating skin texture?

Very nice begining!
Just you could avoid the green rendering for a human
Hope to see more soon!

Looking good. I would love to see when it’s finished.

great work pig, oh. when you see poop do me a favor and push him down for me, he loves that

skin surface sculpting with good results is something that’s near impossible with the basic sculpting tools. Don’t get me wrong, it can be done, but it’s just hard. Instead, use Projection master with some alpha images as your brushes. Search for some threads on alpha surface texturing here on on the forums, there should be plenty. Search for some threads created by Monster Maker particularly; he has some good ones.

Thanks guys… Ill make sure to keep you updated (and make sure to push Poop down :stuck_out_tongue: )

Last night after I posted this, after reading some threads I assimilated that Monstermaker is ‘the man’. and I nabbed some of his brushes and have made my own… thank you very much for the tip

Also thanks to Monstermaker

Update soon

I think hes ready for normal mapping… weighs in at 2 million polys (next gen engines support that # right? :stuck_out_tongue: )
